The most popular materials used today to make disposable gloves are nitrile, latex and vinyl. What are the differences between nitrile, latex, and vinyl gloves and what areas and industries are each of these types of gloves recommended for.

LATEX is still the first choice

It is a natural material obtained from the milky juice of the Hevea brasiliensis plant from the rubber family, which after processing is used as a production material in various industries. Latex is still the most popular material for making disposable gloves, but it causes allergic reactions in a certain number of people, which has hindered the development of latex-free gloves. Nitrile gloves and vinyl gloves are the best alternatives.

In the medical field, latex is still the first choice when it comes to disposable gloves due to the following properties:

high level of protection
finger dexterity and exceptional dexterity
high tactile sensitivity ("second skin" feeling) and comfort

In addition to the medical field, latex gloves are recommended for all industries where there is no excessive contact with heavy oils and fats (beauty salons, maintenance and cleaning activities). NITRILE alternative to latex

It is synthetic rubber, acrylonitrile butadiene rubber - NBR, produced from organic chemicals. In the late 1990s, it was developed as an alternative to latex, i.e. natural rubber, which until then was indispensable in many industries.

Nitrile gloves made of nitrile rubber are characterized by the following properties:

better strength and resistance to chemicals compared to natural latex
exceptional resistance to strong fats and oils
high stability at extreme temperatures from -40 °C to +108 °C
hypoallergenic properties - latex free
high durability

Nitrile is used as a manufacturing material in all industries – automotive, aerospace, footwear, personal protective equipment and glove manufacturing.
In addition to the above-mentioned properties, disposablenitrile gloves have proven to be highly resistant to microorganisms and are an excellent alternative to natural latex. The only disadvantage of nitrile gloves is the reduced flexibility and comfort compared to natural latex.
Application: nitrile is used in all sectors and industries, especially in the food, automotive, chemical and oil industries, but increasingly also in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors and in the household. VINYL the most affordable

It is a synthetic material and one of the types of PVC, more precisely an oil-based film. The primary advantage of disposable vinyl gloves is the cheaper raw materials compared to nitrile and latex, and although they are less durable than latex and nitrile gloves and offer limited protection against chemical or biomedical exposure, they are widely used precisely because of their affordability.

Vinyl gloves grip the hand less, are less elastic and provide less sensitivity to the touch than latex or nitrile gloves, but are recommended for people who are prone to allergies, as they are pleasant to the skin, provide a sense of comfort and are a good choice for many working positions.

Their use is recommended in the food industry for cases of contact with non-greasy food, in the household, veterinary, service activities such as hairdressing salons, processing industry and other sectors with a less risky environment.
